my thoughts will go here, but for now i'll talk about why ive created this place. i partially feel like i need another hobby, especially one that requires me to spend little to no money. i knit, but yarn is expensive and i havent felt called to it in a long time. i puzzle, but puzzles are expensive and last me such a short amount of time. i read, and while i love my public library and grew up on the one in my home town, there are many books that i just know ill want to have my own copy of. i like to underline in pen and dog ear pages and i can feel most of the time when a book will have a profound impact on me and who am i to deny myself the pleasure of owning and keeping and rereading the same copy of a book that i think ill adore. not to say there arent faults in my logic. so while i have these hobbies that i either must or feel inclined to spend money on, ive found my way here. ive rambled but there are other reasons and so i will continue to ramble! i havent journaled in years, and it's not neccessarily (did i spell that right?) something i care to do much, i figured it would also be nice to have an outlet for any emotion or thought far from the watchful eye. NOW, the main reason i decided to create this site is because im a writer who does not write. im a creative writing student who would love to spend my life writing wacky stories but i dont write, and i thought having a place dedicated to just that would encourage me to do so. this entire site i hope, while of course open to everyone, will allow me to be expressive infinitely without worry for retribution. coding and math and anything related to science or stem has always been intimidating for me, especially since coming to college where everyone is insanely smart at everything and i may write, read, be analytical, etc, but science has never been my thing. coding, in turn, is just as intimidating, but i spoke to my sister about my fear and how it was stopping me from having this new hobby and creating a beautiful space for myself, and she told me there's nothing to be afraid of, quite literally. i suppose im afraid of being bad at it? but even then it's not real fear, it's not my fear of the dark or of frogs or spiders, it just anxiety, and if i dont like coding, i can stop. so i started, and i actually really like it. it's confusing and difficult. im constantly googling questions or asking my computer science degree holding boyfriend for help, but i'm enjoying it bc of that. it's very similar to completing a puzzle, but with much more complexity, and is fitting for my obsessive personality. i could continue on about the many reasons ive picked to create "adey's internet" and how it has and will benefit me but i will never stop typing if i do! perhaps for another time. apologies for the awful grammar, im writing how im thinking ♥
